Congoers: Have you ever had an instance where the host hotel of a convention sells out within 5 minutes of the rooms being posted online?

Dragon*con just did. I shit you not.

October 1st was the date that Marriott, and a few other of the host hotels (Dragon*con is divided up between 4 main hotels, Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and the Sheraton with the Marriot being the awesome one everyone wants) and once the Marriott sold out within a 5-15 minute window the other 3 hotels quickly sold out as well.

I have never ever seen hotel rooms go like concert tickets. I am in awe, and extreme happy Steven managed to nab a Sheraton room before they all sold out. Sheraton has the Whedon-verse and Brit-track rooms, my fave categories of the convention.

Wow... Dragon*con regulars who haven't even thought to look for hotel rooms yet are going to be pissed.

... I GOT A SHERATON ROOM! MWAHAHAAAAA~

What do you need to do to prove your and even bigger geek than anyone else?

Sign up for the Dragon*Con attempt at breaking the Guiness World Record for the largest Thriller dance every recorded.

It's only bee a couple days now since the announcement was made at various Dragon*con places, and you need over 250 people to break the record. Already 80+ people have signed up, and with a convention that has over 30,000 attendies you can bet a lot of people will be joining on on the day it takes place.  I can't wait. Question is will I be in zombie make-up or not... I so want to now.

Maybe I'll do the makeup on top of my American McGee's Alice costume to be Zombie Alice.  Steven and Scott had already planned to go as Marvel Zombies superheroes.

You can bet this will make youtube easiler, what with most of the people already going to be in random costumes, zombie or not.  Aparently we already have a dragon*rider from Pern in the midsts.  Zombie Dragonrider!  Zombie... *goes off on a zombie rant*

Oooo, I wonder if there are gonna be a group of Umbrella Corp people at Dragon*con.  That'd be awesome too.

God damn do I love Dragon*con.

Well now, I'm all caught up on Battlestar Galactica. No real idea who the final Cylon is, only that Baltar and Helo are my top dudes if it doesn't turn out to be a total stranger they'll be pulling out of no where (Like Adama's other son maybe?) But on that note, Admiral Adama has now been announced as a guest to Dragon Con making the BSG guest list the following:

Starbuck
Helo
Apollo
Gaius
Admiral Adama
Chief

That's a good chunk of the main cast, and seeing as it is, I'm out to get all their autographs, hopefully on a poster of their Last Supper promotional image, you know, the kick ass one that looks like this:

All I'd be missing would be Boomer, 6, McCain Sol, Starbuck's Hubby (I call him fuckboy, I don't remember his name XD) and the President, who I'm really hoping will be announced for DragonCon over the next week since Jumpcon was canceled. But missing people aside, wouldn't that be the coolest nerd thing to get signed? I personally love it when someone puts a modern spin to art masterpieces, and this one kicked ass.

My only problem is it's impossible to find posters of this picture for some reason. All I can find on e-bay is a crappy copy from an add using the image in a magazine. No thank you, I'd like a large photo-quality print or a poster. This of course wouldn't have been a problem had I been a BSG fan a year ago and they were selling them in limited numbers on the sci-fi store, but now I'm doomed. DOOMED! Not really, and I suppose I can cross my fingers and hope someone will be selling them at DragonCon, but I'm not counting on it. So if any of you guys know where I can pick one up, I'd be forever greatful.

Also, Whitney, I think you should try BSG (Battlestar) cause well, the hot guys in it I think more than make up for it. And then there's Xena, who doesn't show up til later, but still... eye candy. The eye candy is worth it. Let me know if someone on the ship has it for you to borrow, or if you really need me to send it along with the Doctor Who/Weeds episodes I'm already sending you.

Other than that, lifes been same old same old. Waiting for my student loan approval to go through before I continue the pain that is Math class. I'm starting to wonder if I should look into my problem being a sort of math disability I keep hearing about, but there's no guantree the school would accept it, or even have something that could work with me on it. I hate numbers not working in my head. I should be done with school already!!

Looking for new stuff to watch now that we're caught up on BSG. Steven's hinting towards 24, which I don't want to go anywhere near. :S I'm all for helping him get it, I just don't want to sit through it. Which may be a bit unfair since all the shows we've been watching have sort of been picked by me, but I never heard any complaints... I just really don't want to watch 24. Not my kind of thing from what I hear or have seen. So just looking for the next show... the fall season can't get here soon enough.

I should really get back to reading more. >.> Or for that matter drawing.

But back on reading, *points to her icon* finally got around to seeing Doctor Horrible which I suggest to anyone who loves The Venture Brothers, or have ever liked Buffy because it's by Joss Whedon. It was worth a good laugh, and I look forward to future episodes/blog posts.

I really do need to lay off Pupe.jp. It's gotten to the point that I'm planning on splurging out on accessories next time I go to a mall, because that site has me convinced I do not accessorize enough with my IRL outifts. XD God help me. It also has me now seriously going through my closet and getting rid of everything I don't wear anymore. I'm long overdue for a closet cleaning. We'll see how much junk I give to the human society for their consignment shop.

After school starts again and I know my schedule for sure, I think I'll get another job (3rd job) or quit the radio station. I really need an additional job so I can start saving up and actually SEE my debt go down. No idea what to take, but I really don't think I want to go back to waitressing/hosting, but there are no other jobs here.

I tried out the new Princess Bride game. Really simple game play, but it seems like a great game for kids. All in all, it was cute beyond cute, and I loved all the reanimated scenes. Westly's a bishi. XD

Other than that, basically helped my mom pick out a new sofa for the house, and lazed around. I really need to get to sewing that Romana costume, but the patterns I bought are lost somewhere in my black hole of a room, and I have yet to find them.

I can't help but get excited over the amount of people joining the Doctor Who group for the Dragoncon Parade. Aparently they've always had no more than 15 people really, and this year the number is over 50 and growing. I can't wait to be surrounded by geeks all dressed up and proclaiming geek pride to the world. I just hope the silver go go boots I bought will be comfortable for the parade marching. Either way, it looks like I'll have a fun group to hang out with because they have a photoshoot planned, as well as a dinner, and tons of panels. Also now that Jumpcon seems to have been canceled nation wide, it looks like several people are trying to get Dragoncon to get the Doctor Who guest they had, such as Sylvester McCoy and Mary Tamm. If they get them for Dragoncon, it'll only push the con up in its awesome factor.

Still praying James Marsters doesn't cancel. There are rumors he may have schedule problems.

Going to see Hellboy 2 tonight, and looking forward to it. :D KITTENS!! DEL TORO! BEAST IN NEW MAKEUP. hell yeah.

Off to work I go now.

Oh, and while everyone's going nuts over the leaked Terminator tailer, I'll be giddy enough over this Outlander one.

Vikings and Aliens? FUCK YEAH! Sounds nutty enough to work for me.
